Thank you for your interest in Citizens for Equal Protection. Since our incorporation in 1990, CFEP has grown into a thriving non-profit membership organization dedicated to advocating for the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender families in the state of Nebraska.
CFEP is a 501c(3) non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. Board members are highly successful and dedicated volunteers who are trained to oversee the work of the organization through grass-roots committee work. CFEP's daily operations are managed by a paid Executive Director.
Community Programs and Services GOglbt Network Under CFEP's umbrella is GOglbt, the Greater Omaha GLBT Network. Offering monthly meetings for both networking and social opportunities, the group is open to all community members. Visit www.GOglbt.org for more information.
Speakers Bureau In cooperation with PFLAG-Omaha, CFEP Board Members and Members participate in speakers bureaus across the state of Nebraska, education a vast array of audiences on GLBT issues.
Protecting Our Constitution As a plaintiff against the State of Nebraska, CFEP, the ACLU, and Lambda Legal successfully won a lawsuit which overturned Amedment 416 from our state's constitution.
Statewide Legislative Education Every session, CFEP educates Nebraska lawmakers about the need to introduce and raise broad support for equality legislation.
Media Advisory Team When our issues are in the news, the CFEP media swat team is proactively speaking on behalf of the GLBT community.
